Reflections
with Frank Honeywood
This month
Frank's collection of photographs shows the history of the postal service
in Bungay and the surrounding area from as far back as 1890

This
is one of the earliest photos of the Post Office, dated c.1890
|

The
Post Office was situated in the Market Place in 1910
|

The
position, at the top of Bridge Street can be clearly seen
|

The
amount of staff needed was impressive
|

It
was a long way to St Cross but it must have seemed even further
for the telegraph boy (right). Both photos c. 1910
|
|

Earsham
Street, in about 1910 before the Post Office. Note that the
buildings are not set back
|

This
photo was taken c.1992 and shows the Post Office where it has
been since 1939 |
