Feature ArticlesBungay Marathon 2005 Entries for this years race were up considerably with about 1000 runners taking part in all three races, namely the full marathon, the half marathon and the fun run. Once again there was tremendous organisation to ensure that the event went smoothly from extra police, sponsors, feeding stations, referees, timekeepers, marshalls, St John Ambulance, entry and results secretaries ,to name but a few and indeed there were many more without whom this race would not have been possible. The Marathon Committee have to be congratulated for the way this falls into place. The results will appear on the marathon website as soon as they have been checked but the placings are as follows: FULL MARATHON Men Ladies HALF MARATHON Men Ladies The FUN RUN was won by Luke Adams with Alfie Seamons only two seconds behind (both from Bungay High School) This year, sadly one of the members of the Bungay Black Dog Running Club, Mr Roger Wing passed away. He help various posts on the Bungay Marathon Committee including that of race entry secretary for the last seven years. His family gave a special award to the person who reflected the spirit of the race and this went to 'Superman' who has raised £39,000 for charity having ran in 200 marathons
