Feature ArticlesLowestoft Porcelain available in BungayWith one pattern in particular being called the Bungay Pattern the shop was the obvious choice as an
outlet of the Porcelain. The 18th Century factory at Lowestoft was thought to be the first producer of holiday souvenirs with
their 'Trifle from...' range of pieces. The Trifle pieces appear from 1790's and not only do they bear the
name of Lowestoft but those of surrounding towns such as Bungay, Holt and Wangford. These pieces
are extremely scarce. The so called Bungay pattern is one which is found on several shapes and specifically on a fine mug with
the inscription 'A Trifle from Bungay'.
It is important to us in the 21st century owing to the close proximity of the town of Bungay to Lowestoft, a mug has been produced for a recent Mayor of the town, as a gift from her husband marking the end of
her term.
Birth Tablets in the style of the original, which will record your child's birth details, are a pleasure to
give and will become a family heirloom.
Almost anything can be hand painted on to the Porcelain. Dates, Anniversaries, Pictures, Corporate Gifts are just a few ideas. Wedding Coasters, Wedding Cake Knives, keepsakes etc.
