The Diary of The Town Reeve
There is very little to report this month there have been no civic functions to attend. However, that doesn't mean I have been sitting idly doing nothing we have had the quarterly round of committee meetings and the full Trust meeting - my last full meeting before I hand over to my successor in December - whoever that may be!!! Unfortunately I have had to put on hold the tree planting scheme, I had hoped to receive a grant which would have reduced the cost considerably, unfortunately this was not forthcoming, however as part of next years Bungay in Bloom campaign I do hope to carry out a tree planting scheme on a smaller scale. I have also been rehearsing for Bungay Theatre Group's next production which takes place in November, sticking with our usual theme we are presenting Murdered to Death by Peter Gordon and yes there is a murder or two! The week after the production the Town Dinner takes place on December 2nd - being the culmination of my year of office. Bungay's own civic service had to be rearranged due to the harvest celebration at Bury St Edmunds. The new date was Sunday October 30th at 10.30am in Holy Trinity, it was really nice to have a church full of various dignitaries from neighbouring towns for the service, which is a celebration of our town and community.
