What Revels?
a new Waveney-wide, popular, participatory, annual celebration revealing a vast spectrum of arts and heritage activity.

...Whose Revels?
The Waveney Revels is a broad umbrella project launched by WDCs Arts & Heritage service aiming to encourage everyone - individuals, organisations, groups, communities and businesses - to collectively reveal, join in and celebrate arts and heritage enterprise, activities

Why Revel - hopes & aims:

encourage people to explore something different, go somewhere unusual, do something new.

entice, educate, engage, engross, enhance, enrich, entertain, enthral, enthuse, entwine, entrench, entrust, enjoy, enlarge, engender, endorse, energise - and empower.

explore the huge range, diversity and possibilities of the "arts" - ancient and modern - from conversation to culinary, performing to painting, new media to great craft. Revealing 'arts at the heart of life' - everyday - for pleasure, for work, for learning, for all.

reveal and celebrate the range, impact and influences of living heritage in and on our environment - from buildings to landscapes, traditions to crafts, industries to lifestyles.

celebrate and promote Waveney's creative enterprise.

encourage possibilities for creative collaboration -across disciplines, between peoples, connecting towns and communities.

improve access and understanding - to open doors.

enhance Waveney's identity and develop Waveney pride.

develop cultural tourism opportunities.

grow in scope and ambition over time -making a bold start now!

Waveney Revels

the possibilities are enormous, day and night, inside and out:

kites, concerts, theatre, boats, painting, bikes, galleries, talks, dance, history, street-shows, comedy, reading, campanology, eating, gardens, fashion, plays, walking, debates, drinking, classics, web art. Fado, archives, plant, landscapes, photography, writing, music, voices, museums, pub bands, crafts, rock, knit, movies, memories, cooking, ballet, fish, antiques, sow, classes, fitness, bookshops, marbles, radio, tap, collections, runs, voices, ballroom, mime, races, costumes, opera, travel, masks, crafts, vintage sports, models, marbles, graphics, sculpture, horticulture, bands, busking, weave farm crafts, film, singing, exhibitions, musicals, buildings, workshops, ceremonies, designs, folk, celebrations.

Waveney District Council's new Arts & Heritage Service will:
• Coordinate and promote the Waveney Revels, collaborating with participants and sponsors.
• Provide regional and national publicity, media press and promotional support
• Provide project advice - or help find it
• Encourage collaborative and co-working possibilities and introductions
• Help seek funding and support for projects in cash and kind from diverse potential sponsors, donors and contributors
