Waveney Farm Shop

When Norfolk Hire Service had to close due to the ill health of owner, Peter Guyton, it was his wife Rudolphine who had an idea that turned the business around to Waveney Farm Shop and Café

Dutch born Rudolphine came to this country 17 years ago when she "fell in love with an Englishman" and now, living on the Norfolk and Suffolk border, about 4 miles away from Bungay, Ru is passionate about local produce and the local community...... and so Waveney Farm Shop and Café was born.

All produce, where possible is local for example there are strawberries from Hempnall, free range eggs from Harleston, local beers, apple juice.

There are cakes, bread, pies and preserves all made locally (the cheese straws are delicious), dairy produce, meats and cheeses as well fresh fruit and vegetables including local asparagus. There are times when a particular vegetable is not in season and in such a case Ru has sourced other suppliers but she says "Local comes first".

The Café is open all day serving food from 9am - 4.30pm. An all day breakfast is an absolute must and with very generous portions will satisfy hearty appetites. A specials menu board changes on a day to day basis and Fair Trade teas or coffee with cakes are also available.

The Café can seat about 30 people and there are tables and seats outside for the warmer weather.

For the business man on the move internet access is available, there is easy access from the A143 and plenty of parking space - a grat place for a meeting.

However, that's not all. Rudolphine is a very accomplished artist and her paintings of farm animals adorn the walls of the building and often there is an exhibition of local artists. Also look out for the "Recipé of the Month" printed ready to take away.

When entering the Waveney Farm Shop and Café, the ambience is warm and welcoming. Rudolphine, Peter and their staff can be justifiably proud of the business they have created, an area in which to relax and dine on local ingredients and an outlet for local produce to be sold.
